TENNIS & FRIENDS – SALUTE E SPORT, il progetto sociale che promuove e sostiene la diffusione della prevenzione gratuita e la promozione della salute attraverso lo sport, offre molti spunti di riflessione in un momento in cui la pandemia globale continua ad avere un’influenza profonda sulla vita delle persone, sull’organizzazione sociale e sull’economia mondiale.
Il racconto parte dai dati della prima edizione torinese che si è tenuta il 25 e 26 settembre 2021 presso il Circolo della Stampa Sporting: un villaggio della Salute con 42 aree comprensive di spazi sanitari dedicati alla prevenzione, suddivisi in 25 branche specialistiche, a cura dell’eccellenza sanitaria del territorio, nel quale sono stati effettuati più di 2000 screening e check-up gratuiti in due giorni.
Quando dieci anni fa ho ideato TENNIS & FRIENDS nessuno avrebbe potuto immaginare quanto oggi il tema della prevenzione sarebbe divenuto prioritario in presenza del Covid 19.
I dati oggi consultabili sono allarmanti: nel 2020 un italiano su tre non ha svolto gli esami del sangue di routine e in particolare c’è stata una drastica riduzione di tutti i controlli medici, con un milione di esami di screening in meno effettuati rispetto al 2019. In particolare preoccupano le patologie cardiovascolari che sono ancora oggi la prima causa di morte in Italia; secondo l’ISTAT si tratta del 34,8% di tutti i decessi, un terzo dei quali sono correlabili al colesterolo alto.
Investire sulla prevenzione è la corretta soluzione per tutelare la salute dei cittadini e in prospettiva per preservare i conti pubblici; infatti per ogni miliardo di euro stanziato in prevenzione, è possibile generare un risparmio di tre miliardi sulla spesa sanitaria nell’arco dei successivi dieci anni.
Un altro tema rilevante è la necessità della ripresa dell’attività sportiva, in particolare per i più giovani, che a causa della pandemia e della didattica a distanza hanno vissuto un periodo di solitudine e di isolamento e che in molti casi faticano a ripartire con le attività motorie.
Reputo che stiamo vivendo un tempo davvero difficile, che dobbiamo superare tutti insieme nel segno della prevenzione; durante la pandemia il 40% dei pazienti oncologici non si è sottoposto ai dovuti controlli, una situazione a cui bisogna porre con urgenza rimedio, o si assisterà a un drammatico aumento di morti.
Sabato 9 e domenica 10 ottobre dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 18.00 presso il Foro Italico in Roma Tennis & Friends festeggia dieci anni di prevenzione con il Villaggio della Salute e dello Sport, nel quale, medici specialisti volontari, provenienti dall’Eccellenza Sanitaria della Capitale, visiteranno gratuitamente i cittadini, fornendo check-up diagnostici.
Particolare attenzione è dedicata alla salute del bambino grazie alla presenza dell’Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù e a quella della donna, nell’ambito dell’iniziativa Ottobre rosa.
