LA POLITICA CON LA P MAIUSCOLA

È stato il mio primo incontro in diretta con le protagoniste della Fondazione Marisa Bellisario in un’occasione straordinaria per conoscerle. Nel grande meeting di Palermo, in quello splendido refettorio del Convitto Falcone, circondato dalle innumerevoli monumentali bellezze della città, erano riunite più di duecento donne per discutere, confrontarsi, esporre piani e progetti per il futuro, ciascuna con le proprie competenze professionali, le proprie esperienze di vita, il carico di un vissuto che per tutte non è sempre stato un cammino facile. Mi ha colpito la determinazione nel loro proporsi, ma anche nel loro imporsi come cittadine consapevoli della loro forza, prive di assurdi e anacronistici complessi di inferiorità, senza recriminare su un passato che hanno elaborato attraverso un’attività quotidiana dedicata certo al lavoro, ma con la costante attenzione al significato più profondo del loro agire per l’intero mondo delle donne. Un significato politico nel senso più proprio dell’aggettivo per chi – come me – ritiene che la politica abbia per così dire un primato negli accadimenti storici.

È la sempre verde lezione di Spinoza, una guida preziosa per capire le contraddizioni che insorgono nell’organizzazione politica di una società umana complessa, ma mai immobile. Le democrazie dell’Occidente hanno in gran parte rovesciato le regole di società patriarcali dove il potere degli uomini per secoli ha oppresso e rese schiave le donne; un processo avviato dal basso, per così dire, dai movimenti femminili che hanno mostrato una forza straordinaria e una capacità di mobilitazione mai venuta meno, nonostante le inevitabili pause. Alla loro mobilitazione si deve anche la progressiva maturità degli assetti democratici, legittimati proprio dal grado di potere paritario che le donne intendono raggiungere.

Al tavolo di discussione al quale Lella Golfo, instancabile presidente dell’Associazione, mi ha invitato, proprio di politica con la P maiuscola si parlava, grazie alla partecipazione di donne salite ai vertici delle istituzioni politiche italiane ed europee. “Ancora troppo poche”; non è stata una recriminazione, ma l’espressione di una precisa volontà di progredire sulla strada appena tracciata. Conquistare la politica non significa solo entrare nei palazzi del potere; al contrario, esprime la lucida coscienza di una democrazia diventata oggi più fragile in Italia e in Europa proprio per l’incapacità di coinvolgere gli elettrici e gli elettori, troppi ormai indifferenti alla politica. Un dato statistico, tra i tanti circolati al mio tavolo, credo abbia colpito tutte noi: le donne più numerose sono al commando di comuni relativamente piccoli a dimostrare una capacità di ascolto, di coinvolgimento, di cura, di soluzione pratica dei problemi che da sempre è riconosciuto come compito e attributo femminile nelle famiglie, spesso senza capire quanto sia indispensabile per uno Stato offrire alle donne gli spazi necessari per governare una nazione.     When I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I receive four emails with the same comment. There has to be a means you can remove me from that service? Many thanks.
