Da giornalista ne avrò scritti almeno cinquanta, da direttore ne ho fatti scrivere molti di più. Sono gli articoli sui femminicidi commessi in Italia ogni giorno, instancabilmente, da feroci e disgustosi mariti, amanti, compagni. Sono il racconto della mattanza che nel nostro Paese, solo in questo 2023, ha contato 8 vittime al mese, uno scempio.
I fiumi d’inchiostro non hanno purtroppo fermato quelli di sangue, pare non siano serviti a nulla, ed ecco che ci ritroviamo, noi giornalisti, sgomenti e ci sentiamo impotenti e ci interroghiamo, io per prima, su cosa si può fare in più, e soprattutto di più efficace.
In una manciata di giorni sono state trucidate Giulia, con il suo bambino di 7 mesi ancora da far nascere, e non avevamo finito di raccontare gli orrori della sua storia che se ne è andata a coltellate anche Floriana e poi Cetty, travolta apposta da un’auto. Un filo rosso che lega la Lombardia al Piemonte alla Sicilia, una scia che attraversa l’Italia e che cancella famiglie, madri, che lascia orfani e che fa inorridire e infuriare.
Davvero da tanti anni mi occupo di raccontare queste tragedie e di aiutare le donne perseguitate da uomini giustizieri: con l’onorevole Carfagna, della cui amicizia mi onoro, quando è stata ministro per le Pari Opportunità ho sostenuto fin da subito le sue prime fondamentali battaglie e campagne d’informazione.
Ora dico che non è più il tempo di girare intorno al problema: i numeri denunciano un allarme e un tracimare inarrestabili, contro i quali solo l’urgenza delle azioni e delle risposte può valere qualcosa. Dico anche che sono stufa di certe paternali elargite con irritante superficialità: quante parole tanto misurate per delitti così non sopportabili! “Le donne devono stare attente”, “le ragazze imparare a difendersi e andare a lezione di arti marziali”, “gli uomini possessivi vanno scoraggiati”, “il femminicidio (che definizione orrenda) è un delitto di genere”, “è il problema delle donne…”
Da giornalisti, battiamoci intanto per rimettere in ordine le parole e dare a ciascuna il peso corretto. Gli omicidi delle donne sono un obbrobrio e un delitto degli uomini, perché sono loro a compierli. Certo che le donne sono costrette a difendersi, ma mentre fanno pratica di karate – non un istante dopo – devono imparare a gridare al mostro fin dalla prima avvisaglia, al primo istante, al primo timore. Una scenata, una spinta, un controllo in più sul telefono, un messaggio anche solo troppo intrusivo: lasciatelo, non perdonatelo, avvisate qualcuno, chiamate le forze dell’ordine.
Non offrite mai a quell’uomo alcuna attenuante: non vi perseguita perché vi ama troppo, lui non vi ama affatto. Non abbiate paura di raccontare che vi tormenta, non è colpa vostra, è colpa sua. E non abbiate vergogna di dire che avete sopportato, che avete amato l’uomo sbagliato, che avete sofferto in silenzio: è troppo tardi solo se non capirete questo.
Il procuratore aggiunto di Milano Letizia Mannella ha dichiarato pochi giorni fa: “Mai andare a un ultimo incontro di spiegazione” con il vostro aguzzino, perché le statistiche dicono che è quasi sicuro che sarà veramente l’ultimo. E’ rarissimo che un femminicidio venga commesso in un raptus, in un momento di follia: è invece prassi quotidiana che si tratti di un delitto premeditato e organizzato.
C’è una maledetta fretta di reagire. Il governo Meloni l’ha fatto con un nuovo DDL approvato dal Consiglio dei Ministri, che dà una stretta alle norme contro la violenza sulle donne: fra i provvedimenti, era l’ora che si arrivasse all’applicazione automatica del braccialetto elettronico per quelli che si trovano agli arresti domiciliari e all’utilizzo di video e foto come prova per far scattare l’arresto in “flagranza differita”.
Poi, certo, il lavoro grosso va fatto sui maschi, come ha detto anche il ministro Nordio: “Le pene non costituiscono mai una deterrenza assoluta. Solo con un’operazione culturale possiamo iniziare a ridurre, se non eliminare reati odiosi: deve iniziare nelle scuole e proseguire dappertutto, anche nelle carceri”. Siamo del tutto d’accordo. Auspico dunque che il governo, condotto peraltro da una donna, traduca ora questi buoni intenti in leggi: noi giornalisti siamo pronti a diffondere e spiegare ogni misura preventiva, ogni diritto, qualsivoglia nuova pena.
Non fermiamoci qui, il cammino è lungo e vogliamo percorrerlo tutto, il momento è adesso. Ogni mese perduto significa 8 donne uccise.
