Si parla spesso di “fuga di cervelli” ma cosa significa realmente vivere e lavorare all’Estero oggi? Si può trasformare questo fenomeno in una risorsa per il Paese?
Ogni anno l’Italia perde circa 90mila giovani, di cui i tre quarti hanno 25 anni e più e sono altamente qualificati. I motivi che spingono questi giovani ragazzi al lasciare l’Italia sono noti, ciò che non lo è, è la loro vita lontani da casa al giorno d’oggi.
Il modo di affrontare le distanze è infatti molto lontano da ciò che era dieci anni fa: un viaggio da Napoli a Milano richiedeva in passato 9 ore in scomodi treni, oggi è possibile volare nello stesso tempo oltreoceano, anche a prezzi piuttosto convenienti. Per non parlare delle agevolazioni garantite dalla Convenzione Schengen che consentono di spostarsi senza frontiere, di insediarsi nel nuovo Paese senza un visto e senza cambiare moneta.
La vera rivoluzione nell’abbattimento della distanza è stata, ovviamente, la diffusione di internet: le notizie arrivano in tempo reale grazie ai social network, ai giornali online e ai podcast di informazione. Tramite essi, si può rimanere sempre aggiornati sugli ultimi dibattiti politici o tendenze musicali.
Gli stessi social rendono l’incontro tra italiani all’Estero più semplice: moltissimi sono i gruppi che rendono lo scambio di informazioni burocratiche più veloce e aiutano a conoscersi e ad accrescere le comunità italiane.
Nonostante le tariffe telefoniche sempre piú vantaggiose per connettere telefonicamente l’Italia all’Estero, le videochiamate sono il vero mezzo per ricongiungere famiglie e affetti, chiacchierare insieme dopo una cena lontani e raccontarsi com’è andata la giornata.
Sempre più numerosi sono gli shop online che permettono di ordinare comodamente prodotti alimentari italiani, alleviando la nostalgia dei biscotti preferiti introvabili all’Estero o della pasta di buona qualità.
Si può quindi rimanere connessi con l’Italia e contribuire con le proprio risorse anche vivendo a chilometri di distanza, rendendo il trasferirsi all’Estero una scelta più che un obbligo, un’opportunità più che una sofferenza.
Si parla spesso delle risorse economiche che l’Italia perde lasciando andare via dei ragazzi dopo averli formati, ma è possibile tuttavia far diventare loro risorse preziose per il Paese? Bisognerebbe fare tesoro della loro esperienza, del loro punto di vista e delle loro idee di innovazione, coltivate in altri Paesi, per connettere l’Europa e far crescere l’Italia, potendo sfruttare questi “corrispondenti esteri” a proprio vantaggio, per costruire qualcosa di nuovo per il futuro.
