Non è una scomparsa qualsiasi quella di Silvio Berlusconi perché lui non è stato un uomo, un imprenditore, un politico qualsiasi ma un protagonista assoluto del Paese per trenta lunghissimi anni.
Ci penseranno gli storici a ricostruire il segno indelebile lasciato sulla storia d’Italia e non basteranno le copertine di giornali e televisioni a raccontare la rivoluzione che il suo linguaggio, le sue riforme, la sua persona hanno impresso su un’Italia che lo ha amato e odiato ma ne ha riconosciuto e sancito l’assoluto protagonismo.
A me resta il ricordo dell’uomo e del politico, a cui devo tanto. È stato grazie a lui se sono entrata in Parlamento, non ho avuto il suo sostegno, ma ho avuto la libertà e la possibilità di presentare e portare all’approvazione la legge sulle quote di genere. Si è detto tanto, e a sproposito, su Berlusconi e le donne ma la verità che dovrebbe passare ai libri di storia è che fu una sua parlamentare, durante un suo governo a varare la prima legge sulle quote di genere del Paese, la rivoluzione gentile, che ha portato tantissime donne nei CDA delle aziende pubbliche e private. Ieri sono andata a rileggere le tante lettere mandate a Silvio: era il periodo degli attacchi giudiziari, delle donne in piazza contro di lui e io esortavo lui e i dirigenti di Forza Italia a intestarsi il merito di quella legge per zittire le strumentalizzazione e far parlare i fatti.
Questo era il “guaio” del Berlusconi premier: lui che sulla comunicazione aveva costruito un impero, lui che aveva stravolto per sempre il linguaggio della politica, una volta alla guida del Paese era troppo impegnato a garantire un futuro all’Italia. Troppo preso dal ruolo di statista che voleva meritarsi, troppo ansioso di cambiare il destino della sua gente, gli italiani, troppo poco fazioso in un Paese che sulle fazioni ha costruito la sua storia.
Ricordo ancora il primo giorno in Parlamento e lui che si mette a sedere accanto a me e, come fosse il mio primo giorno di scuola, mi illustra il dovere del buon deputato, mi dà consigli di vita e di politica. Ricordo il sorriso di padre orgoglioso quando gli portai le foto di Marina con la Mela D’Oro in mano. E ricordo i Natali in cui, con un sorriso affettuoso consegnava personalmente un regalo a tutti i “suoi” parlamentari. Questo era l’uomo, questo il quattro volte Presidente del Consiglio, più di De Gasperi, Andreotti, Moro e Craxi. In quegli anni e anche dopo, le occasioni d’incontro furono tante e sempre portavo a casa un insegnamento, un ricordo denso di riflessioni. Una positività che finiva per contagiarmi e convincermi che sì, avevamo una missione.
Perché si è detto e scritto tanto, e con tanto livore, sulla discesa in campo di Berlusconi e sulla difesa dei suoi interessi ma chi l’ha scritto non conosceva l’uomo. Si può recitare una parte a favore di telecamere, non si può indossare una vita che non ti appartiene. E Berlusconi ci credeva, credeva genuinamente nel dovere di contribuire al benessere del Paese, di mettere le sue capacità imprenditoriali, il suo intuito, il suo saper fare al servizio delle istituzioni. Era geniale e ingenuo, poco attrezzato a difendersi da un’acrimonia così lontana dal suo modo di essere e pensare. Era generoso e visionario, ottimista e leale, ironico e umano, era un mito e il suo contrario, era “l’italiano” che ha abbattuto il muro tra la politica e gli elettori. E che si consegna ai posteri con l’unicità con cui ha vissuto e lavorato.
Mi resta il privilegio di averlo conosciuto, di aver lavorato al suo fianco, di aver condiviso un pezzo di storia italiana. Il tribunale della storia, si sa, ha i suoi giudici ma nessuna toga potrà scalfire un lascito tra i più pesanti e importanti dell’Italia repubblicana.
Un abbraccio ai suoi figli, a Marina, sempre vicina alla Fondazione.
Sicuramente la politica italiana non sarà più la stessa senza di lui.
