La pandemia prima, la guerra adesso, da tempo sociologi, teologi, filosofi si interrogano sulla fragilità complessa dell’epoca che attraversiamo, in cui tutto sembra confondersi, smarrirsi, perdere i confini. Un pensiero che investe tutto, anche fenomeni odiosi come la violenza. Perché se finora il 25 novembre evocava nel nostro Paese soltanto l’intollerabile fenomeno dei femminicidi, oggi non può più essere così. E lo ribadiremo il 23 novembre alla Camera dei Deputati nel corso di una conferenza stampa con tante amiche parlamentari.
Sapete perché proprio il 25 novembre? È la data scelta in memoria delle sorelle Mirabal, attiviste politiche massacrate per ordine del dittatore Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, un crimine diventato tristemente “simbolico” per modalità e contesto in cui è stato compiuto. Il 25 novembre del 1960 nella Repubblica dominicana mentre Patria, Minerva e Maria Teresa Mirabal stavano andando a far visita ai loro mariti in prigione (detenuti politici perché, come loro, oppositori del regime), furono bloccate e rapite sulla strada da agenti del Servizio di informazione. Portate in un luogo nascosto nelle vicinanze furono stuprate, torturate, massacrate a colpi di bastone e strangolate, per poi essere gettate in un precipizio, a bordo della loro auto, per simulare un incidente.
Ed è invitabile, ricordando la genesi di questa Giornata, pensare a Masha Amina, alla “polizia morale” in Iran e alla violenza di cui sono vittime le donne ucraine e afghane. Senza minimizzare la tragedia dei “nostri femminicidi”, è innegabile che oggi questa giornata sia per loro. In un Paese, come il nostro, che prova faticosamente a garantire pari opportunità per tutti e in cui il ruolo della donna nella società, nella politica e nell’economia trova legittimità pubblica e istituzionale, l’insofferenza verso la libertà femminile si sfoga tra le mura di casa. Una piaga da condannare, da debellare e soprattutto da prevenire ma con profili, confini, significato ben diversi da quello che avviene in Iran, in Afghanistan e ancora diverso da quello che sta accadendo in Ucraina.
“Donne, vita e libertà”, il grido delle donne iraniane forse compendia tutte le “diverse violenze” di cui noi donne siamo vittime nel mondo. Siamo fragili, deboli, insicure, così ci vedono loro, gli uomini. E quando alziamo la testa, quando usciamo dal falso mito in cui ci hanno imprigionato, quando ci mostriamo per quello che siamo e sentiamo, quando esprimiamo la forza potente che abbiamo sempre avuto, allora sì, facciamo paura. E la paura si esorcizza con la violenza. Il nostro posto è dentro le case, a partorire e accudire i figli. Per questo in tanti parti del mondo non ci fanno studiare e ci tengono lontano dai luoghi in cui si esercita il potere. Perché loro, gli uomini, lo sanno che in cuor nostro coviamo la rivoluzione, che il mondo così come ce l’hanno costruito attorno ci sta stretto.
La “vita” del grido che delle iraniane è l’antitesi della guerra e per questo in Ucraina usano i nostri corpi per mostrarne il volto più truce. La violenza contro noi è l’espressione più infame del potere maschile. La vita che celebriamo è il grido più potente di una pace che gli uomini non sanno trovare.
La “libertà” noi donne d’Occidente, le “fortunate”, l’abbiamo conquistata lentamente ma inesorabilmente. Siamo scese in piazza ma nessun manganello ci ha tolto la vita. E sembra assurdo oggi, mentre contiamo le “nostre” vittime – 95 in questi undici mesi del 2022 – ritenerci fortunate ma in parte è così. È come trovarsi a poche centinaia di metri dal traguardo mentre per le altre, le più numerose, la gara è appena iniziata. Loro però hanno noi e noi non possiamo sottrarci da questa responsabilità, da questo dovere. E il 25 novembre, quando scenderemo in piazza, quando esibiremo le nostre scarpe rosse, è le donne che lottano ogni giorno rischiando la propria vita che dobbiamo celebrare. Perché dal loro coraggio passa la morte di una cultura che ci vuole come gli uomini vogliono. Dalle loro battaglie può nascere un mondo in cui i diritti non hanno genere.
