Questo mese è uscito l’ultimo libro di Antonio Padellaro: Confessioni di un ex elettore – Pensare con la propria testa all’epoca del governo Meloni. È un divertente saggio che affronta uno dei temi importanti della politica italiana: il non-voto. Racconta con riso amaro le effettive difficoltà dei cittadini che hanno oggi nello scegliere il partito per cui esprimere il proprio voto. Lo stesso autore al Salone del Libro di Torino, svoltasi lo scorso fine settimana, ha dichiarato che per la prima volta in vita sua il 25 settembre 2022 non si è presentato al seggio, come lui ben 16.636.845 di italiani (fonte: Min. Interno). A ogni tornata elettorale si registra sempre un incremento di quello che ormai è il vero primo partito nazionale quello degli “astenuti”. Nella media nazionale su 100 elettori ben 40 non votano più. Stiamo parlando di poco meno della metà della popolazione maggiorenne avente diritto al voto.
Nel libro, scritto in terza persona, viene ben descritto lo sgomento del personaggio che dopo aver votato a sinistra per un’intera vita si risveglia un bel giorno condividendo il pensiero e le parole di Giorgia Meloni. In una prima parte l’autore si chiede come si può andare a votare sapendo già l’esito delle urne. In effetti con l’attuale legge elettorale, che il centro sinistra avrebbe perso, dopo il suicidio delle divisioni tra le diverse anime politiche della sinistra era risaputo. Tuttavia nella campagna elettorale il protagonista del libro riconosce un certo sentimento di arrendevolezza del suo partito e delle scelte portate avanti, così lontane dai reali sentimenti dei cittadini.
In effetti la lingua perduta della sinistra ha portato il Partito Democratico a essere il partito delle ZTL – zone a traffico limitato – lasciando a Matteo Salvini e alla Lega prima, al Movimento 5 Stelle poi e a Giorgia Meloni con fratelli d’Italia in ultimo, l’opportunità di dialogare in maniera semplice e diretta con la gente. Uno smarrimento che ha portato anche all’elezione, si può dire inaspettata, del nuovo segretario del partito: Elly Schlein.
Oggi gli elettori della sinistra italiana si aspettano molto dai loro dirigenti. Per non sentirsi frustrati politicamente non vogliono perdere quelle sponde culturali e della tradizione tipiche della sinistra italiana, tuttavia pur riconoscendo utili e importanti i temi dei diritti civili, cercano riscontro e posizione su quelle priorità che riempiono la vita di ogni giorno come l’inflazione, il caro prezzi, la crisi che coinvolge il tema del lavoro, la guerra, il cambiamento climatico, …etc.
Effettivamente se riflettiamo sulle ultime campagne elettorali abbiamo visto sui cartelloni imperativi come “credo”, “scegli”, “pronti”, … parole che indicano un obbligo per tutti noi in cui sempre più spesso è difficile riconoscersi. La gente ha bisogno di credere nelle affermazioni della politica per poter cambiare in meglio la propria situazione, ma c’è qualcosa che tradisce questo sentimento ed è proprio la difficoltà dei politici di riuscire a mantenere le loro promesse elettorali. Le iperboli usate nel periodo pre-elettorale spesso si sgretolano davanti all’incredulità degli elettori, frantumandosi di fronte al muro del saper governare. Il tutto si può riassumere nella famosa massima di Ennio Flaiano: “La situazione è grave, ma non è seria!”.
