A Warner spokesman added that a DC logo appears at the end of the Joker sequel,

Several frictions are said to have developed between Phillips, DC and Warner-
with claims that Michael DeLuca, Chairperson of Warner Bros.

Entertainment, and CEO Pamela Abdy seemed ‘unwilling’ to say no to Phillips
due to his huge past successes.

It is claimed Phillips would ‘only’ speak with DeLuca
and Abdy rather than Gunn and Safran – who took control of DC two months before production began on Joker 2 in December 2022.

Gunn and Safran did attend the first director’s cut screening for the
studio but Phillips fueled rift speculation when he told a reporter: ‘With all due respect to them, this is kind of a Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also met with Phillips shortly after WarnerMedia and Discovery merged in April 2022
and was ‘open to filming in Los Angeles if the director would make

The studio wanted to film in London which would have cost

A source directly involved with the film recently shared: ‘The one
thing about genre stuff: If you don’t listen and pay attention to what the fan expectations are, you’re going to

However, Phillips insisted on filming in LA with the budget
remaining static.

A Warner spokesman told the publication the studio ‘supported
the decision to film in Los Angeles’.

Insiders also claim studio bosses did not want to premiere the film at the
Venice Film Festival, but Phillips pushed back – with
a Warner spokesman saying the studio ‘fully supported the decision to bring
the film to Venice.

heart of their reason for entering Parliament in the first place hear themselves?

In the past few days they have mounted self-serving arguments against proposed
electoral reforms that the major parties look set to come together to

So the wealthy wont be able to hide behind anonymity while using their cash to influence election outcomes – and the extent
to which they can use their wealth at all will be limited.

The bill will further improve transparency by also increasing the speed and frequency that disclosures of donations need to be made.

At present we have the absurd situation in which donations get made – but you only find out the details of who has given what to whom many months later, well after
elections are won and lost.

In other words, what is broadly being proposed will result in much greater transparency and far less big money
being injected into campaigning by the wealthy.

Anyone donating more than $1,000 to a political party,
as opposed to $16,000 under the current rules, will need to disclose having done so.
And how much they can donate will be capped.

Yet the Greens and Teals have quickly condemned the proposed new laws,
labeling them a ‘stitch-up’, ‘outrageous’ and ‘a rort, not a reform’. 

They have lost their collective minds after finding out that Labor’s proposal just might secure the support
of the opposition.

I had to double check who was criticising what exactly
before even starting to write this column.

Because I had assumed – incorrectly – that
these important transparency measures stamping out the influence of the wealthy must have been proposed by
the virtue-signalling Greens or the corruption-fighting Teals,
in a united crossbench effort to drag the major parties
closer to accountability.

More fool me.

The bill, designed to clean up a rotten system, is being put forward
by Labor and is opposed by a growing cabal of crossbenchers.

It makes you wonder what they have to hide. Put simply, the Greens and Teals doth
protest too much on this issue.

The major parties have long complained about the influence the likes of
Simon Holmes à Court wields behind the scenes amongst the Teals. 

And we know the Greens have taken massive donations from the
wealthy in the past, contrary to their irregular calls
to tighten donations rules.

Now that tangible change has been proposed, these bastions of virtue are running a mile from reforms that will curtail dark art
of political donations.

The Labor government isn’t even seeking for these transparency rules to take effect immediately,
by the way. It won’t be some sort of quick-paced power play before the next election designed to catch the crossbench out.

They are aiming for implementation by 2026, giving everyone enough time
to absorb and understand the changes before preparing for them.

Don’t get me wrong, no deal has yet been done between Labor and the
Coalition. I imagine the opposition want to go over the laws with a fine tooth comb.

As they should – because it certainly isn’t beyond Labor to
include hidden one-party advantages in the proposed design which would create loopholes only the unions are capable of taking
advantage of, therefore disadvantaging the Coalition electorally in the
years to come.

But short of such baked-in trickiness scuttling a deal to get these proposed laws implemented, the crossbench should offer their support, not cynical
opposition, to what is being advocated for.

They might even be able to offer something worthwhile that could be
incorporated in the package.

To not do so exposes their utter hypocrisy and blowhard false
commentary about being in politics to ‘clean things up’.

There is no simple answer to the question because the children’s genders are not independent events.

They depend on the parents’ ages and their genes. Unfortunately there is no readily available research into the genders of seven or more children to
establish the experimental probability for such an outcome.

However, if you assume that they are independent events then,
given that the probability of a girl is approx 0.48, then the probability
of the seventh child being a girl is 0.48.

Celine Dion’s showstopping ‘live’ performance at the start of the
Paris 2024 Olympics was pre-recorded, it was claimed in France today.

Millions were moved to tears when the 56-year-old Canadian superstar sang Hymne à L’amour (Hymn to Love) in front of the Eiffel Tower.

It was the culmination of a lavish Opening Ceremony mainly held along the banks of the River Seine – one that
President Emmanuel Macron said was the ‘emotional highlight’ of the sporting extravaganza.

But on Friday, the highly respected Liberation newspaper
quoted multiple music industry experts who said the July 26th
performance was ‘without a shadow of a doubt’ pre-recorded.

In turn, representatives for the Paris 2024 organisers refused to answer questions on the scandal, despite previously insisting that the performance was indeed a live one.

In comments that were republished across French media, a sound engineer
who asked to remain anonymous said: ‘It was 100% playback, you can hear
it from the first notes.’

Others said it was ‘without a shadow of a doubt’ pre-recorded, as was a performance by Ms Dion in rehearsals.

A YouTuber musician who uses the name Wings of Pegasus said the rehearsal
and actual performance also sounded exactly the same – something that is technically impossible, as there will always be variations between any

has been battling the incurable stiff-person syndrome.

Hymne à L’amour was chosen because it was originally sung by the late French music icon Edith Piaf.

Thousands of fans took to social media to praise Ms Dion,
whose greatest hits include ‘My Heart Will Go On’, the
theme from the Titanic movie.

One said: ‘Ok I’m proper emotional at Celine’s performance,
just wow!’, while another gushed: ‘Queen Celine is back and she sounds fantastic’.

It was in 2022 that Ms Dion disclosed that she had been diagnosed with the neurological
disorder stiff-person syndrome which causes muscles to stiffen and
spasm.

She then made a vow to return to the stage ‘even if I
have to crawl’, adding: ‘My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!’

Around 104,000 people paid for tickets to watch the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony live, with the best seats costing more than £2500.

Despite heavy rain, many sat through multiple acts, including a pre-recorded one by Lady Gaga,
which was shown on multiple screens along the river, as
well as around the world.

But Ms Dion’s performance was meant to be a live one, and it has just
been released as such on various streaming platforms.

Ms Dion announced on Instagram on Thursday that the ‘live’ recording was available on sites such as YouTube and Spotify.

Australians have discovered an unlikely pop-up store offering shoppers ‘incredible’
deals on clothing, homewares, food, and electronics.

The temporary Vinnies locations have been set
up around Victoria to help shoppers get through the cost of living crisis ravaging the country.

Vinnies, or the St Vincent de Paul Society, is a charity that works to provide
support and assistance to people in need.

Most items are brand new stock donated by corporate partners including Christmas decorations.

Popular bargains include $10 large jars of Biscoff, $2 bags of
Red Rock Deli chips, and discounted shoes from Boston Bros. 

Shoppers will find men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing,
shoes from top brands, and even electrical goods
at the Vinnies pop-up locations. 

Many have purchased vacuums, air fryers, Adidas shoes,
printers, and kitchen knives from previous pop-up shops. 

There is presently a location in Ascot Vale which is open until 3 November,
and another in Boronia which will remain open until Christmas – or until stock
runs out.

A new store will open in Richmond at Dimmey’s on 7 November.

‘They have all the trending products – it’s so awesome,’ one said.

‘I bought a hair dryer from Vinnies and I’m obsessed with it,’ another wrote.

‘I always have such good luck at Vinnies, I have to go,’
a woman added.

For those interested in the finer things, shoppers have discovered a ‘hidden gem’ discount retailer where you
can find designer buys from brands like Fendi, Dior, and Aje for affordable prices.

earrings from [American jewellery brand] Badgley Mischka,’ Beth
told FEMAIL.
