This award has been created in 1989 in commemoration to the former CEO of Italtel, the late Marisa Bellisario. It is a recognition attributed to the women who became professionally renowned through hard work,either in the public sector, the private economy or in the social field.

The Marisa Bellisario Prize. Awarding rules 

1. The Commission for the Marisa Bellisario Prize is composed of a number of members decided by the Board of Directors 
2. Amongst the members of the Commission, the following are entitled to participate: 
The President of the Foundation, 
The Members of the Board of Directors who are annually elected ,
The President of the Association “Amici della Fondazione Bellisario”, and The President of thre Fondation’s Youth Section.

Equally eligible are the Foundation’s regional representatives as well as personalities representing the Institutions, entrepreneurship and the world of culture and science.

3. On examination of relevant documentation and in conformity with the rules established by the Board of Directors, the Commision will formulate the selection of the awarding candidates with the Mela d’Oro Prize. The Commission will forward its reccomandations to the Board.
4. The Commission will operate with utmost secrecy.
5. On the basis of the outcme of proceedings of the Commission, the Board will take the final decisions.
6. The Board may reconsider possible eliminations which could deserve the Prizer Marisa Bellisario.
7. Tha mandate of the Commission is annual with a view to a circulation of idea as wide as possible and to a guarantee of achieving future realities.
